VA Enterprise Architecture

VA EA Release Evolution

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is transforming to improve its support to Veterans. At the core of this transformation is the VA Enterprise Architecture (VA EA).

The VA EA is an evolving entity that is built through an ongoing collaborative effort between the Department’s business and technology communities and the Architecture and Engineering Service (AES), within the Office of Information and Technology (OIT).

The VA EA provides the enterprise-level line-of-sight needed to support informed decision-making. As an authoritative reference, the VA EA provides an integrated view of the different enterprise data domains across all VA levels: VA-wide Enterprise, Segment, and Solution. The VA EA Intranet contains content such as models, artifacts, documents, tools, and repositories. This information is currently released on a quarterly basis. Recent updates to the VA EA Intranet can be viewed on the What’s New page.

The diagram below depicts the VA EA Release Evolution products since 2012. For each year, key products are identified. This illustration clearly demonstrates how continual innovation and steady growth have enabled the VA EA to mature rapidly and successfully throughout the years.
